As keen gardeners we are thrilled and very proud to be one of the co-sponsors of the Experience Peak District Show Garden at the new RHS Chatsworth Flower Show 2017 – Chatsworth will host the prestigious show for the first time from the 7th -11th June.
Lee Bestall is the garden designer, the garden illustrates how an altered perspective makes us feel different. People visit the countryside for many reasons, including to clear their minds and boost their mood. Fresh air and wonderful views make us feel great.
A central mown path leads through rough grass inspired by the fields of Derbyshire. It is peppered with native trees and hand-painted cows, the latter a nod to Sir George Sitwell’s remark that blue stencilled white cows would ‘give distinction to the landscape’.
The second half of the garden takes inspiration from the formal gardens of the great houses of the Peak District, with their clipped topiary and herbaceous planting.
We already have our tickets for the show and all of our cottages are booked … anyone who has missed the chance to visit this year will get the chance again next year – so may we suggest that you book early to avoid disappointment, having said that it will be televised by the BBC … move over Chelsea there’s a new show in town!
