Could Mary, the website fairy, be any happier?!
Yesterday the lovely people at the Aviva Women’s Tour announced that their 2016 race will run through Derbyshire … twice! That means there’ll be World Champions and Olympians galore riding on our roads.
Stage 3 on Friday 17th June will practically go through our back yard as it runs the 112 kilometres from Ashbourne to Chesterfield … via Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock … not the most direct of routes! There will be more that 2,000 metres of climbing before they climb off in the market town of Chesterfield!
Then, Stage 4 on Saturday 18th June the ladies will climb back on their bike in Nottingham for the ride to Stoke-on-Trent … through Derbyshire 🙂 that’ll be 119 kilometres but only 1,500 metres of climbing!
So, if that was not excitement enough … the weekend 17th through 19th June will see the award winning Eroica Britannia return to Bakewell! The festival includes vintage cycle challenge rides, live music, vintage stalls, cycle themed stalls, beer and food stalls and much, much more!
Here’s a flavour from the 2015 festival:
We still have a little Availability for the weekend.
So, no website updates that weekend then!! Enjoy Mary!
